Summer has finally arrived

Invitation Day No.1 

A great turnout for our annual invitation day with over 150 people taking part. Winners with 88pts were David Leaf, James Murch and their guests. Runners up with 87pts were Mike Rudd, David Hodgson and their guests. Well done to all those who played especially to those who picked up prizes. 

Invitation day 2 is still available book by visiting us here in the professional shop. It's £30 to invite 2 guests per 2 members. As a members guest its £20 on any given day so you can save yourself some ££'s and have an enjoyable day at the same time with the chance to win prizes!

York Union Amateur Championship 

On Sunday the annual York Amateur Championship took place at Pike Hills Golf Club on what was one of the hottest days of the year so far and as usual we had a strong gathering of lads playing from Fulford. After the first round our very own Jamie Miller was leading the way on 1 under par with 2 other lads, he was then closely followed by Matt Kelly on Level with James Cass and Josh Plaxton on +2. With it being very close the afternoon round was crucial. Jamie didn't get off to the best of starts with a 2 over front 9 but he soon put that behind him to come back in 3 under par and finish 1 under for the round and 2 under for the competition. This proved to be enough to win the title, the same title he won for the first time 25 years ago. Well played Jamie and keep up the good form. For the full results see the York Union website.

Yorkshire Boys 

On Wednesday Fulford was honoured to host the Yorkshire Boys Championship. This competition is for lads under the age of 18 to compete over 36 holes stroke play. With the wind blowing the course proved to be tough however this didn't stop 2 of our lads placing 2nd and 3rd after the first round. Charlie Thornton and Mattie Roberts had 73 and 74 respectively. However, this competition was 36 holes and the second round proved to be even tougher. Mattie Roberts placed highest out of our lads in 7th place with a second round of 78. He was followed by Tom Kelly who had 2 great rounds of 78 and 76 to finish 11th. However, the eventual winner was Tom Gray from Moortown Golf Club with 2 fantastic rounds of 69 and 76. Callaway Fitting Day

Thursday 9, June we will be hosting a Callaway Fitting Day between 11.00am - 3.00pm.
