PGA Lombard national Pro Am
This week Ian Darby and I played in the Lombard Trophy Regional Final at Dunham Forest golf club and we had a respectable round of -2.
Unfortunately, when -11 is in you have to take a few chances and as you can see on our score card we paid the price in the back 9 holes with too many bogeys. My eagle on the 11th was pretty nice though. Thanks once again Ian.
Total Warrior
Away from the golf course, last Sunday I underwent another challenge, however this time I was joined by George and Gav my step brother. Total Warrior is an event which is held around the country and involves getting through 12km of obstacles and lots of mud, safe to say it was very challenging. Despite this we had a great day out and our times were very respectable with myself and Gav 1hr 44mins and George 1hr 47mins (got stuck in the mud….). This was a great event which challenged us to the max, see below for the before and after pictures.

HSBC Hour
I wanted to mention to you an initiative I'm part of to do with the Open and getting people into golf. It's called the HSBC HOUR and im giving the oppotunity for anyone to come and try golf at Fulford on Saturday 16th July from 13.00-14.00. This is a great chance for people to have a go at the wonderful game.
Invitation Day
Our 2nd invitation day of the year took place on Sunday, with the weather being kind to us the scoring was high. Eventually 2 teams were stood atop of the leader board with 90 points (2 from 4). Michael Rudd and Henry Wharton who were joined by their 2 guests. However, they had to settle for 2nd place when Martin Pickles and Stuart Cousins came in with the same score but a better back 9. This score was helped along with a 2 on the 9th (6 points) for Martin which certainly helped to smarten up the card. Well done to all who played.

Just when you thought Jason Day, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy were all set to divvy up golf's biggest prizes, along comes big-hitting Dustin Johnson. The US champion is now number two in the world and looks to be finally fulfilling his potential after another fine win at the weekend - and a big one too at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. For years Johnson seemed destined to be the bridesmaid, now he's one of the favourites to go back-to-back in Majors and take the Claret Jug back across the Atlantic.
