Captains Day

On Saturday we had Captains Day, With 11 hours' worth of tee times this competition was well supported with 219 players entered into the competition.

The overall winner was Gavin Simmons with 42 points. Gavin has just completed a package of lessons with Guy.

Division 1 winner was Sam Pepper with a score of 41 points. Division 2 winner was Andrew McGettigan with 41 points who is back in form after being custom fitted for some new clubs and Division 3 winner with 37 points was Mick Simpson.

The best gross winner with a magnificent 5 under 67 was Damon Coulson fresh of a lesson with Guy in the morning (To book a lesson click here). Other mentionable scores from members of the scratch team was George Forder with a 4 under 68, Jamie Miller with a level par 72 and Rob Moore with a 1 over 73. All these players will be representing Fulford in the Yorkshire Amateur Championship at Alwoodley Golf Club which takes place from 30th - 4th July.

Additional congratulations go out to Andy Richardson who had a hole in one on the 5th hole during captain's day and inevitably won the nearest pin prize on that hole.

Many thanks should go out to Mr. Captain Tony for his hard work throughout the day to ensure everyone had an enjoyable day. Also thanks to those that volunteered their time as starters and serving at the halfway house.

Ladies Competition

On Tuesday the ladies had the Macmillan Spoon competition. The winner on count back was Jackie Heels just edging out Ann Wood on 39 points. Ann came off the course very pleased with her score after recently having lessons with Guy.

England Vs Scotland

It was a tense affair in the annual England Vs Scotland Fixture. With the scores tied at 4 - 4 it came down to the final match and the final hole with Scotland emerging victorious 5 - 4. Well done to Scotland.
