Well done ladies...

Fulford ladies were this week victorious in the East Yorkshire Ladies Winter Alliance Matchplay. Fulford Captain Pat Boden and Maxine Booth battled through several rounds, fending off some fierce competitors, eventually beating Driffield in the Final on the19th hole. Below they're receiving their trophy from Fulford Member and Alliance President Sue Grewer.

Juniors are at it again...

On Sunday, our juniors were in fine form again, this time junior captain Tom Kelly and George Robson became victorious at Sandburn Hall in a competition named after one of our members. The Ted Kendall trophy was won with 42 points from Tom and George winning on the back 9 with a closing nine points in the last three holes. Congratulations guys and well done to all the juniors who have played this year, we have been very impressed in both results and work ethic. Keep up the good work.

Annual Medal

The last Medal of the year was played on Saturday to some glorious conditions. This was reflected in the scores. With 65 being the eventual winner you had to go low. The 65 was from Colin Byrne, well done Colin on a great score and end to the season.

The Annual Medal is also used to choose an overall winner of all the medals in the year, to qualify you had to win one medal this year. This year’s winner was Neil Price who secured victory over many others with a score of 70. Congratulations Neil, we will see you at prize giving night.

The longest hole in history

We all love a challenge; beating a personal best or doing something outside of our comfort zone. That feeling of having achieved something beyond what we normally would.

In an attempt to raise $100,000 for children’s charities, one man and his caddie (subsequently joined by an adopted dog on their journey) set out to complete the longest hole in history; a par 14,000 carved out of difficult Mongolian terrain, culminating at the 18th green of Mt. Bogd Golf Club.

It took them 82 days to trek the 2011km hole, facing rocky ground, swamps, icy water and desert in the process – click on the link below to view their video. With only 134 balls lost – with one ball lasting 65km! – the man holed a nervy seven-footer to complete the longest hole in history in 20,093 shots, just the mere 6,093 over par. A really special achievement for some fantastic charities.
