Captains Drive-In Stableford On Saturday morning there was an individual qualifying Stableford, which saw many members playing from early in the morning until the last available tee time just before the Drive-In. With the weather just holding out, some fantastic scores came in from many of the players. Harrison Mussel scored a magnificent 49 points, winning the competition by six points. However, with scores still in the 40’s, Adam Sutcliffe also scored 43 points with Nelson McConnell scoring one behind with 42 points. A massive well done to all the players. |
Captains Drive-In Following straight on from the Stableford in the morning, the new captains (Jodie, Ian and Janet) all drove off in style from the first tee. With three brilliant tee shots down the first, the captains have officially started their year and we wish them luck with everything in the year to come and we hope they enjoy their time in their roles. The Drive-In was then followed by the captains mixed social event. With the format of two gents and two ladies, we were bound to have some low two from four scores in. The winners with a brilliant 85 points were Junior Captain Jodie Himsworth along side team mates Hannah Kelly, Matthew Kelly and Tom Kelly. Well done to all who played.

Greenkeepers revenge On Sunday our annual greenkeepers revenge took place. This is where the greenkeepers have the chance to put the pins wherever they want to and trust me there were some troublesome pins out there. However, that did not stop the winning team of Joe Butcher, Isaac Green, Jack Bolam and Harrison Mussel shooting an unbeatable 84 points. Well done guys that is truly a great score on a day like that.

Boa constrict your footwear |
There's been two major trends in the golf footwear market in recent years: the first is the surge in spikeless shoes, and the other is Boa. So, what actually is the Boa Fit System and is it anything to do with snakes? |
| FootJoy UltraFIT Boa golf shoe
|
|
No, it's nothing to do with snakes. Phew. Rather, the Boa Fit System has revolutionized footwear for the better and we absolutely love it. Instead of using traditional laces, Boa utilises a steel wire (virtually unbreakable) that is effortlessly tightened via an easy-to-use dial strategically placed on the shoe (seen above). To loosen, simply pull out the dial and open up at the tongue. |
With FootJoy's UltraFIT Boa, which is available in-store now, you will be guaranteed a comfortable fit every time safe in the knowledge that your laces will not come undone or get tangled throughout your round. If you haven’t already experienced Boa, then we implore you to come down to the store and try on this fantastic option today - no obligation. |
