This week was the first round of the winter league competition. The format was a friendly individual stableford off the yellow tees, played in glorious sunshine which is not bad for the 1st of November. On such a pleasant day, it was no surprise that the scoring was very low. The winner with a brilliant 45 points was Nigel Peet, beating out Paul Mussell and Lee West, who both had 42 points and must have thought would be good enough for the victory.

Over the weekend we ran a special deal through the shop where we would give you 10% extra on your credit when spent in its entirety. Many members took advantage of this over the weekend, spending there hard earned credit they had accumulated over the summer. It was also amazing to see, how many members didn't realise how much credit they had on there account and were able to treat themselves to a new jumper or shoes. In addition this also served as a reminder to members with Christmas coming up what they can use there credit towards.  

Pro shop additions

We have just taken a delivery of the new Callaway Big Bertha irons. The reviews preceding to the launch of this club were very good with many reviewers from the top golf websites and magazine getting up to 2 clubs extra in distance, which I'm sure everyone would like from their irons. The reason for this increased distance is due to the clubs 360 Face Cup technology which has previously only been used in their fairway woods. This gives the club a faster and flexible face which gives higher balls speeds, even on miss hits. The 360 Face Cup also give maximum forgiveness on the irons ensure straighter shots more often. We have the iron available for demo now, for on the course use and over the next couple of weeks will be able to fully custom fit in our studio.
