2 From 4
On Saturday we had a 2 from 4 winter competition, with plenty of golfers turning up to play it was always going to be a competitive competition. The winners, with a fantastic score of 91 points were Tony Wales, Tony Dale, Phil Hutton and Martin Pickles. They pipped the 2nd place team by 4 points which consisted of Shaun Dalby, Adrian Glew, Mike Free and David Snaith. Well done to all who played.

Mats on holes
Starting from this week there will be areas on the golf course where mats will be compulsory to use on the fairways. They will be on holes 6, 8, 12, 16 and 17. Mats will be available to pick up from the first tee to be dropped off again near the last green. However, there will be mats available out on the course for use within the areas.
The reason for the mats is to preserve the turf that would normally be hit with wedges during the winter so we can enjoy better turf and playing conditions during the summer.

#468FCD ;text-align:left">Stats that'll make you thinkYou don’t get to a single-figure handicap without having a strong iron game, but the journey shouldn't end there. For us, there are two key factors that, when combined properly, will help take your iron play to the next level. |
1) Get custom-fitted If you're serious about shooting in the 70s each and every round, then getting custom-fitted for your next set of irons is key. PING’s i500 model feel fantastic off the face and provide precise distances and control, but that's no good if you're using the wrong shafts or you need 2-degrees flat but yours are standard.
2) Know your yardages The second stat above is remarkable and if you're one of the 21%, you need to come and see us for a gapping session. There we can give you the distances you hit each of your clubs as well as spot any issues you have between clubs.
