The Longest Day Golf Challenge
The longest Day golf challenge took place on Sunday and was completed by Paul Hemlin, Richard Cass, Luke Smith, Ian Bruce, Gary Ratcliffe, James Marshall, Christian Hall, James Hodgetts, Jake Hodgetts and 5 Visitors. They attempted to play 72 holes in 1 day. There first tee time was 5.30am and eventually finished at 9.00pm. Great effort from everyone. This day was in aid of Macmillan cancer support and with help from Paul's wife Rachel and children, the day was a great success. Overall on the day the guys raised £6500, a very well done to all of them.
Captains Day
On Saturday our Captain Mike Blades hosted his Captain's day. The format was full handicap stableford so there was plenty to play for. Captain's day usually has the biggest field of the year and this year did not disappoint with over 200 people entering. We had 3 divisions on the day. 1st division winner was Matt Stevenson with 41 points, 2nd division winner was Mick Sanderson with 39 points and the 3rd division winner was Marcus O'Boyle with 40 points. Some great scores but no one could beat our overall winner on the day, Ceffin Parry had a great score of 42 points to win Captains day outright. Well done Ceffin.
We would just like to also say well done to Mike Blades for organising a great day for the members and a successful Captains day.
